Looking for a way to be green? One of the simplest contributions you can make to help our planet is to reuse your old toothbrushes!
Did you know over 50 million pounds of toothbrushes are dumped in landfills every year? We recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months in order to keep your teeth at their healthiest. But replacing your toothbrush this often results in too many toothbrushes being thrown away to slowly decompose in a landfill.
So don’t toss. Reuse.
The good news is there are plenty of people who replace their toothbrushes and then reuse them for a different purpose! This could be anything from using a toothbrush as an all-purpose cleaning tool to using it to brush your pet’s teeth.
Some have even made jewelry out of their old toothbrushes. Be creative! What cool thing can you make your toothbrush into?
Other options include buying toothbrushes that only require replacing the brush portion and recycling it in the recycling bin if you cannot think of any good options on reuse.
