The Delta Dental of Virginia Foundation was pleased to include the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula in this year’s list of grant recipients by supporting their Smart Smiles At the Dentist program.
Without Smart Smiles At the Dentist, dental treatment for kids like Heaven wouldn’t be possible. Heaven is a little girl of a single mother who could not afford dental insurance or treatment for her daughter.
Once Heaven was enrolled in the Smart Smiles At the Dentist program, the dentist determined that she not only had several deep cavities, but that she was also in need of a tooth extraction, a root canal and crown. Heaven is only one of thousands of children who have been helped by the program. Thanks to Smart Smiles At the Dentist and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, she no longer has to worry about the pain and illness that can come from oral disease.
