Every summer, kids are attending summer camps all across the United States. Summer camp provides a special type of environment for kids to come together to not only have fun but to learn and develop new skills during the summer months. Unfortunately, it’s an experience that isn’t available to just anyone. For many children, their families often lack the financial resources to send them to summer camp.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia realizes how important these types of experiences are for our youth. Their summer camp is just another way they are working to help kids in our community realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Delta Dental of Virginia is proud to support The Boys & Girls Clubs in helping them fulfill their mission. This year’s Delta Dental Pro-Am for Kids raised $109,000, contributing to a total of more than $1.1 million since its inception 19 years ago. The money raised from the tournament and auction support valuable programs offered through the club, such as Smart Smiles® At the Dentist, as well as other administrative expenses. Plus, through the Delta Dental Pro-Am for Kids, 150 local kids have been sent to camp – an opportunity that would not have otherwise been available to most of them.
